Nuclear Blast es un sello discográfico independiente y distribuidor por correo con sede en Alemania, Estados Unidos y Brasil. Fue fundado en 1987 pot Markus Staiger en Alemania. Inicialmente distribuyendo música hardcore punk, empezó a publicar albumes de bandas de Death Metal, Grindcore, Black Metal y Power Metal, así como álbumes de tributo. Nuclear Blast es ampliamente respetada por ser el mayor sello en la escena del Death Metal melódico, junto con Century Media.La oficina central se encuentra en Donzdorf, Göppingen. Nuclear Blast America distribuye sus grabaciones a través de Century media como parte de una colaboración estratégica entre los dos sellos independientes dedicados a la música Metal.
Inicialmente, Nuclear Blast se concentró en grabaciones de Hardcore, con bandas como Agnostic Front o Attitude. Hacia 1990 se desplazó hacia el metal, y actualmente cuenta con docenas de grupos y artistas, tales como Dimmu Borgir, Therion, Blind Guardian o Hipocrisy. También ha lanzado una serie de álbumes recopilatorios llamados "Death Is Just the Beginning". La banda sonora de la película Alone in the Dark (2005) contó con música del sello Nuclear Blast.
La discográfica fue fundada en 1987 tras un viaje de su creador Markus Staiger por Estados Unidos. Originalmente fue llamada sencillamente "Blast", ya que éste era el nombre de su banda favorita, aunque poco después pasó a denominarse Nuclear Blast. El primer lanzamiento del sello fue una recopilación en vinilo llamada Senseless Death, que reunía bandas norteamericanas de Hardcore como Attitude, Sacred Denial, Impulsive Manslaughter, y otros. La primera edición, de 1000 copias, se agotó en un año.

Rainhard Kruse (Voces y bajo) y Ralf Maunert (Batería) durante 1985. Alistando a otro ex-miembro de BLACK JACK CO. el guitarrista Franck Tiesing. El demo Bloodsucker fue grabado durante 1986, seguido de su álbum debut Satan's Defloration Incorporated despues vino el Sign of the Wicked en 1988. Tiesing fue sustituido por Rainer Rage, para el siguiente año, para lanzar el álbum Mistreated.

GAMMACIDE fueron uno de las mejores bandas thrash de la escena Americana, formada a mediados de los 80's y provenientes de Texas, su sonido iba en la vena de otras bandas de su área como Rigor Mortis, Devastation y los Bay area heroes EXODUS, llevandolo a niveles muy brutales, intensos y sumamente letales, tales que la Legendaria Revista Metal Forces describió a Victims Of Science como : "Excelente, es como una bomba encapsulada en vinilo y con la potencia para incinerar cualquier estereo", aparte para esta edición se ha incluido 4 temas extras tomados de su ultrabrutal y megararo demo del año 1991 originalmente enviado solo a la prensa y sellos , estos 4 tracks llevan el sonido a unos niveles de extrema intensidad. El album fue originalmente editado en 1989 en vinilo y cassette solamente (Wild Rags) y ha permanecido por muchos años como una total rareza agotada.

Vio-lence era una banda de thrash metal formada en 1985, realizaron pocos demos, un EP and 3 discos de esdtudio entre 1985 y 1993.
Despues de establecer una segura formacion con Phil Demmel and Robb Flynn en guitarras, Dean Dell en bajo, Perry Strickland en bateria and Sean Killian on voces, ellos realizaron un demo en Mechanic Records en 1986.
Poco despues realizaron su tercer demo. Entraron al estudio a grabar su album debut, llamado Eternal Nightmare, con 7 canciones, realizado en 1988. Eternal Nightmare carecio de promocion a pesar de la buena aceptacion por la audiencia Thrash y la critica.
