Formados el año 1995 bajo el nombre de Apocalypse, el grupo se dedicó en sus comienzos a tocar versiones de canciones clásicas de Iron Maiden, Queen y The Cult. El nombre del grupo cambio a After Forever cuando empezaron a componer sus propias canciones, grabando su primera demo en 1999, la cual atrajo el interés de la discográfica Transmission Records, con la cual firmaron inmediatamente. El estilo de su música es una base de gothic metal con incorporaciones de tipo clásico o incluso de música alternativa.

Es uno de los mejores discos de esta banda holandesa para mi gusto seguido del Decipher que es considerado el mejor album de su carrera

Awaking The Centuries es el segundo disco en estudio de Haggard para muchos es el mejor disco de la banda alemana. En este disco Haggard crea un estilo gótico-sinfónico muy bien trabajado y las canciones de este CD están basadas en Michel de Notredame (Nostradamus).
